Scott

Scott, you can see him as my new teacher of my listening class, or you can also see him as my coworker. Whatever you see who he is, they are both funny guys. First, let me talk about my new teacher. Today, on Friday June 29, 2007, I met my new listening teacher in my listening class. In fact, I did met him before in the level two of the Leap Program. At that day of the level two, because my listening teacher was sick, Scott came to be our listening teacher for one day. To my surprised, both time he used the same way to start his first class - ask everyone's name and then try to remember it, and he would not begin teaching until he could tell everyone's name. In my opinion, he is very a passional, excited and enthusiastic person. Whenever he starts talking, it seems that he can never stopping talking. He only stops talking when he asks questions or someone interferes him. Only by this view you can understand how crazy he is. Then, let me interview my coworker whose name is Scott. He is also a very funny guy because he also like talking a lot as well. However, the difference is that he enjoy say a lot of nonsense and then he will say "Is that right?", or something like that. Sometimes I really want to beat him down because of his hateful nonsense about me, but I can not tell you what it is. By the way, they both wear glasses as well, but please do not fancy that they are the same physique - at this point they are absolutely different. The one who is my teacher is much stronger and more muscular than the other one who is my coworker. Also, there is another obvious different that can make me distinguish them. My coworker have a nickname which I always use to call him, and that is "Soso". Do not ask me why; I do not know the reason, either. I just follow his friend who is also my friend called Sam. Actually, maybe I know the reason now because I discover his hotmail's user name is "Soso" after I add his hotmail address, but the point is that I still do not know why he uses this name.

The Rainbow

Yesterday, which was on Sunday, after a rain which was almost like a storm, I saw a rainbow while I was on the bridge that connected the University of Calgary and the C-train station; it was the first time in my life to view the real rainbow. Although it was not the whole rainbow - I could only see the bottom part of the rainbow because there was a huge piece of gray cloud on the sky, I still felt excited. When I saw it, it gave me a special feeling which I never got before from the pictures of rainbow - I felt it looked like the mirage, the polar lights; it also looked like the crystal, the diamond. In brief, I finally though it should be the wonderland's being. I had already learned the reason of the appearance of the rainbow when I was in China, but I still was attracted by that fantastic rainbow. It was just above the Calgary's Tower. Watching it from such a far away place, it just looked like a bridge which connected between the Calgary's Tower and the sky. By that time I saw it, my mind had become a complete blank - I seemed a rabbit which was scared and stop walking. I forgot what the rainbow was - I forgot it was a refractive phenomenon, I forgot it was just a kind of light, I forgot it commonly appeared after raining - I forgot everything about the rainbow, but instead I only wanted to spend the time in appreciating how beautiful it was. I felt so regretful of why I did not have a camera or any machines that could take a photo at that time. I nearly did not want to leave until the rainbow disappeared. However, at that time I thought yet I did not finish the second draft of the third essay so I needed to go back home quickly; also, I was afraid it would rain again. Actually, I realized that those were just excuses - I would be an idiot if I stayed there at that time for watching the rainbow- but I had no choice. Therefore, I continued walking to the C-train station after I had stayed there for about five minutes, but I had made up my mind that I would never forget this experience.

TOEFL

Today, I met one of my prior classmates during the break time of the writing class. His name was Tommy, who did not passed the leap program last semester and then withdrew that program in order to spend his whole time for passing TOEFL. To my surprised, this time he was coming to tell us that he passed the TOEFL. First of all, please do not misunderstand my meaning that I was not thinking he shouldn't have pass TOEFL, instead the fact is that this bad gay just told me half a month before that he thought it was very difficult to pass the TOEFL, but this morning he suddenly appeared and told us the result without any prediction．I was just the person who had been cheated by this gay. That is what I was surprised. Now, in the case that we already realize why I was surprised, let's come back to my main topic. Since I arrived at Canada, I have already made up my mind: I would pass the TOEFL in some day. By the way, also please do not have any fantastic dream: I was not planning to do that after the time like ten years; though I am still not sure when I can do it, either. Anyway, I just want to say that this gay made me recall my wish. Actually, I never really forgot it at all, just I did not have time because the homeworks of the leap program drove me crazy and made my busy, everyday. I can not be successful in working on both the leap program and the TOEFL test. I suddenly feel I am losing my direction of my life. However, I still need to keep going, because at least I do not need to regret when I am failed in whatever anything.

Midterm

The midterm was over. I should have felt relaxed. However, I fell so depressed because I think that I don't do it well. The first midterm course was the presentation. I had prepared it for a week, but I still didn't did it well because I was nervous at that time so that I forgot what I was going to say. At the end, neither did I do my presentation well, nor did I speak enough time. I predict I may just get around half of the whole mark. That will be terrible. Also, in my writing midterm, due to the long preparation of my outline, I didn't have enought time to write the essay. As a result, the last part of my essay wasn't made well. Another terrible result of my midterm. Then, in my reading midterm, I forgot that my instructor require us to get to the location of the midterm before fifteen minutes of the midterm. Therefore, I was late as well missed ten minutes. Although at last I still finished my reading midterm, I was not confident of doing it well. The last midterm course was listening. That was somewhat crazy as well. Even though I could hear what the persons said in the media, I didn't have enough time to take note. In brief, I didn't do my listening midterm well, either. Consequently, I may fail all of my midterm courses. I can't imagine how "awesome" it will be. Of course, I shouldn't give up now because I still have half of the semester to work on, but it is really difficult to get over from the suffering of failing the midterm.

Pokémon

Today I am going to talk about one of my favorite cartoon - Pokémon. Also, the game of Pokémon is one of my favorite game as well. First of all, I prefer to tell you some content of Pokémon in the cartoon. In a fantastic planet, there are many fantastic living beings, which we call them Pokémon. In that planet, every children who are ten years old can choose a Pokémon from the institute of their cities. Then, they will travel around their planet with that Pokémon. Also, they can capture other kinds of wild Pokémon during their trips, but first they need to use their own Pokémons to beat the wild Pokémon down in order to avoid their escape, and then they can use a ball named the Pokémon Ball to capture the wild Pokémon. In the movie, the main character called Ash gets a Pokémon Pikachu at the age of ten and travel around the world. His goal is to become a Pokémon Master in the future. In his planet, there are many competitions for testing how well people train their Pokémon. If they win the competition, they will be considered as one of the Pokémon Master. However, so far Ash have never win many competition and now in the movie he is doing the pocess of another competition.On the other hand, in the video Pokémon games, we will play a role of a ten-year-old child, then capture and train our own Pokémon in order to win the competition. In fact, based on the players statistics, Pokémon is the most popular game in the handheld game consoles. Furthemore, the first games of Pokémon was come out on 1995, which was earlier than the Pokémon cartoon. Since 1995, the Pokémon games have had four main editions. The last edition of Pokémon English version was already started to sell on April 2007. This is a short brief introduction of Pokémon which is made by Kallin.
