This is the first time, as well as the last time

This will be my last article for my blog. Actually, I had planned to write this final blog before the final due date of our Blogs Journals assignment, but afterwards I changed my mind because there will be many assignments in the following week. I am afraid that I will not have time so I decide to do it ahead.
I had learned the name of blog before in China but I did not really know what it was. Therefore, when first creating my blog, I had no feeling about it. Moreover, after understanding what the blog was, I was annoyed because I do not like showing my opinion or felling in a public place. However, I still tried my best to do it; I wanted it to be fantastic since it would be my stuff. I took me time to perfect it slowly and slowly. Sometimes I would even think it wasted my time, but whenever I saw my blog was bad-designed, I felt unhappy. Finally, I have worked a lot on it. Now, my assignment is done, and my blog has become one of my favorite stuff. But I may probably not post any more blog again; I am still who I am. Furthermore, I have no regret showing my thought through the blog at this semester. Instead, I will keep it in my mind for ever.
Our Leap program will end on August 1^st. I have been in this program for almost one year. On the other hand, I have been with someone for almost one year, someone for almost half year, someone for almost a semester, and even someone for one and half year. When people are going through a process, they always feel suffered; but when they recall it later, it might taste good. On the following September, whatever going to UC, going to other schools, going to other cities, or even failing, our life will be huge different. When the time comes to part, I do not like wishing persons to have a good future or something like that; it is not predictable. Instead, I just hope no one will forget these days, for ever.

Harry Potter

On July 21, 2007, the last book of Harry Potter, which is already the seventh edition, will be launched, and the name is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I did not read the Harry Potter book series until I was grade eight. At that time, there were already four Harry Potter books which had been very famous in the world, but in China still not so many people had read them. Also, I think in my class few people have read them, either. Hence, today I would like to give you a short brief about the story of the Harry Potter book series. In the world of Harry Potter, existing some magicians living in an unknown place. Among the magicians, there is an evil magician called Voldemort who wants to have an undying life. He is powerful, but one day with an unknown reason he suddenly goes to kill a baby named Harry Potter. Although Potter’s parent is not so powerful as Voldemort, finally his mother sacrifices her life to make a strong magic paternoster on Potter’s forehead. That is , no one can hurt Potter, or that person will be killed. As a result, Voldemort has been killed, but someone still suspect if Voldemort is yet alive. Despite Voldemort is alive, the wizarding world has had a period of peace for eleven years. On the other side, Potter has been brought up by his aunt for eleven years. At the age of eleven, Potter has been invited to the only magic school in the world called Hogwarts School. However, in the first year studying in the Hogwarts School, Potter almost has been killed by a teacher who is controlled by the evil soul of Voldemort. Since that time, events related to Voldermort have been happening around Potter. Potter’s friends and teachers in the Hogwarts School have tried hard to help Potter, but at last Potter still has been captured. The fact is that Voldermort needs Potter’s blood for rebirth. After doing that, Voldermort wants to kill Potter, but Potter successfully escapes from Voldermort at the end. Then, the war between Voldermort with his apostles and the wizarding world is going to occur. At the same time, the president of the Hogwarts School tells Potter why eleven years ago Voldermort want to kill him. In one day of about twelve years ago, One of the Voldermort’s apostle named Severus Snape accidentally heard a prediction from a predictor: in the future, Voldermort will be killed by Harry Potter; Voldermort trusted it, so eleven years before he went to kill Potter but failed. Before long, by the exploration of the president of the Hogwarts School, they found out that before the first time Voldermort went to kill Potter, he had already separated his soul into seven pieces by sacrificing other person’s life. Therefore, in order to completely kill Voldermort, they have to find out other rest pieces of Voldermort’s souls. At this time, Voldermort’s apostles suddenly attack the Hogwarts School and the president is killed because he just used up all his power to destroy one of the Voldermort’s souls. Then Potter decides to finish other rest piece of Voldermort’s souls. This is the end of the sixth Harry Potter book.
At the end, the only important opinion that I have to mention is I just like the books but not the movies, because you will not get a clear idea about what the story of Harry Potter is from the movies.

Calgary Stampede

This morning I went to watch Calgary Stampede Show with my classmates. Though I have been in Calgary for one and half year, I did not go to watch the show last year because I needed to work in the morning. Fortunately, this time I did not need to work until afternoon so I had time to watch show. After the show, I had a feeling: it was not so exciting as my expectation, and unexpectedly it made me so tired. Actually, it was not bad; or I should say that it definitely could be considered to be a great show but just not wonderful enough as my expectation. The Calgary Stampede is one of the largest festivals in Canada, which has a ninety-five history so far. Originally, a stampede means a group of animal gets impulsed and runs around without direction. In the past if this phenomena appears in a farm, farmers which were called cowboy before may attempt to turn moving herds to run in cycle so that they would not destroy everything. Then, this activity turned into a competition: a cowboy-looked man tries to stop an impulsed animal, which usually is cow. Today, people consider the animals-strolling show as the a Stampede festival that is held in Calgary every year on July. Also, in Calgary there is not only the show for celebrating, but also a Stampede Park for us to visit. Unfortunately, I have never gone there. In my opinion, I think it may be just a common recreational park with some cowboys and horses. At the end, what I only want to mention is that despite the Stampede is great, at least we should take one chance to join this royal celebration.

Canadian National Day

Today is the Canadian National Day. However, there was little celebration. Because today is Sunday, I was supposed to open the Subway of campus. Although I went out from my home at about seven thirty, it was really quieter than usual. I hardly saw a car running on the road. That gave me a different feeling from my country’s national day. In China, before several days of the national day, we will already have some celebration shows on TV and activities in our schools. Also, in my city (I am not sure if other cities in China are the same), we will hang our national flag outside of the public building. Though people will not really be excited in the nation day, but I can still have a feeling: oh, Chinese National Day is coming. Now I am in Calgary, but I did not have any feeling of the Canadian National Day except hearing some mentions about the coming of the Canadian National Day. Still, Calgary people did have few activities, the greatest of which could be the fireworks at the evening. Just now - before a few minutes - there was some deep ringing sound outside of my apartment when I was doing some research. I immediately knew it was fireworks because I had heard from my friends that there would be fireworks tonight. Actually, after I came back from work, I have done some research about the origin of Canadian National Day. A long time ago, the aboriginal Canadian was Indian, but afterwards the Europeans arrived this land about one thousand year ago. Then, Canada became the colony of French and Britain. Until July 1, 1867 the confederation government of Canada was come into existence, so afterwards Canadian consider that date as the Canadian national day. In fact, it is interesting to explore the history of Canada.
